KHAKI | OOTD

Khaki is currently one of the most trendiest colour for autumn/winter this year, and I'm loving it! It's definitely not a typical girly shade, but that's the beauty of it because not all women are girly. I think one of the best ways to tone down the toughness of any shades of khaki is by styling with white, pastel or neutral tones. I still remember my first ever khaki piece of clothing. I was about thirteen, and it was a pair of khaki chinos that my mum has purchased randomly for me. Obviously, I listened to her advice as she told me how 'cool' I would look if I worn it on a school trip to France. I got so excited, paired it up with some random things and was confident that I could pull it off. I was soooooo wrong, hahaha!
I'm really pleased with my new khaki cardigan though. It's warm, looks very simple and rather practical as well as it has two pockets, one on each side. The material is soft and isn't too thick so you can easily layer up with your winter coat. I don't know about you but I absolutely hate (I know hate is a strong word, but for this occasion it's necessary) that moment when your long sleeves cardigans/jumpers rolls up half way inside your coat/jacket sleeves. It's such an annoying feeling that I can't really put into words, but I'm sure you get what I'm trying to say.

LACE CROCHET DENIM | OOTD

I really think white and lace are the dreamiest elements ever existed in fashion.  And currently, 20% of my wardrobe consist of white, which I think is a good amount because white goes with every other shades so you can't really go wrong.  The only thing that could go wrong is when you go out for a meal, and you drop a bit of food (curry or spaghetti bolognese are the worst!) onto your white clothes.  Oh yes, that situation is guaranteed to crush your heart into pieces.

I've always been a great fan of denim.  I grew up wearing denim jeans, denim skirt and denim dungarees.  It feels satisfying when I invest money into a new pair of jeans because I know they'll last forever.  I'm talking about denim jeans, as I feel that white or black jeans doesn't really give me the  excitement as denim does.  As soon as I turned 18, I really got into ripped jeans.  I remember that back in school days a lot of girls thought ripped jeans looked too 'manly', some even said they were 'ugly' so most girls worn only black leggings.  Because (apparently) you would look a lot cooler wearing the same things as all of the popular girls.  I didn't give a damn what they thought, I've never been a fan of the 'short t-shirt and see-through leggings' trend anyway.  It's funny actually, as ripped jeans are everywhere now.  And all of a sudden, many young people agreed that they are rather 'sexy'.
I bought these denim-washed ripped shorts from a local boutique in Bangkok, and the cropped crochet top was actually from Primark's previous summer collection!  I simply added a white lacy cardigan and a green reflector sunglasses to make this outfit look a bit fancier.  You'd be surprised what statement pieces could do to your outfit.  Just remember, don't over do it!

VERTICAL STRIPES | OOTD

16:27 B 8 Comments

I knew I always loved fashion from a young age, but it wasn't until three years ago when I finally realised how much I want to live and grow old with it.  I remember flicking through fashion magazines that my mum used to subscribed to, and how I was secretly excited when new issues arrived every month.  Praew (Thai women's magazine), was the first magazine that I started flicking through at the age of eight.  I still remember how much I enjoyed styling my Barbie dolls, and even making new dresses/outfits for them by cutting up my own clothes from GAP KIDS… Hahaha, sorry mum!
I'm a big fan of stripes.  I'm not fussed whether they're vertical or horizontal, as long as they're combined with 'white', they tend to be my go-to-piece.  For me, stripes trend is a classic.  They always look trendy and you can match them with anything from denim, leather or pulling off a minimalistic look by wearing all-vertical stripes on their own.  Although, there are no strict rules with fashion, and what you choose to wear is totally up to you!  Just because someone else is wearing something different to how you would wear it, doesn't mean they're wrong.  Wear what you feel comfortable in and have fun matching up what you already have in your wardrobe.  You don't need to go out and spend a fortune on things that you're unsure of.  The secret of being well-dressed is actually knowing what's appropriate to wear for what occasions, it's not all about the total cost of your entire outfit.
Sometimes, I get slightly jelly (jealous) of those who lives in a country full of warm sunshine and trees full of pretty blossoms, it would be a dream for me to wear summery clothes every day throughout the entire year!  I love autumn/winter fashion trends, but being a petite built at 5 feet 4 inches and a half, I don't often enjoy layering tons of clothes, jumpers then winter coat on myself!  Luckily, I've managed (just) to walk against strong winds in the winter without flying away to another planet though.  Is there anybody else who can relate to this!?
Till next time,
Boonya
